Wild animal tee shirts

I am learning to sketch a wild animal and transfer my drawing to a tee shirt.  I used special fabric markers to colour in my design.

Number sentences to 10

I am learning to read and make patterns to 10. I am learning to write the number sentence using the symbols.

"I can count on from a number to 10.  I can write the number sentence." said Alayna

Reading out loud

We are learning to read out loud familiar poems. We are trying to read with fluency and expression. As we get more confident, we can pay attention to the author's punctuation to help our reading sound more interesting.

"I can sound out words I don't know when I read out loud. I can read loudly so everyone can hear" said  Alayna

Wonderful writing

At writing time we are learning to experiment with new types of punctuation. We are starting to read our stories back and check we have fullstops and capital letters in the correct places.

"I am so good at writing. I can finger spaces and go down the pages."

3 letter words.

I am learning to write a three letter word, listening to the beginning, middle and end sounds.  This will help me in my reading.

" I can read 3 letter words to help me with my reading" said Alayna

100 days learning

We celebrated our 100 days of learning.  We talked about how clever we are now and what we are able to do by ourselves.

Measuring fun

We were learning to compare similar objects that differ only in length. We were experimenting  with learning to measure with non-standard units.  We were learning to have an accurate starting and finishing point when we measure and use measuring language. 

" I was counting and it was hard, because Kristian was so big and long."

I'm on Phonics Fire

Phonics lessons are a very important part of our Writing programme. In this photo I am learning to hear and record the middle sound in words. When I recognise the pattern, I can write lots of words.

"I am getting clever at doing sounds now".

Number writing

I am learning to write my numbers correctly and independently.

"I can write up to 40 and say my numbers up to 100" said Alayna

Owl Babies

We are learning to publish our writing for an audience, because we are authors. In Room 3 we try to present our work in many different and interesting ways to encourage people to come and read our fabulous stories!

High frequency words

I am learning to writing my high frequency words independently.

"I can write and robot the words for reading and story writing."said Alayna

Story Writing

We are learning to write down our ideas and draw a picture to match.

First sounds

I am learning to make the first sound in new words now that I know my alphabet sounds.

"I can make the sounds that the word starts with" said Alayna

Numbers from 1-10

I am learning to recognise and read and write numbers to 10.  I am able to write all my numbers to 10 correctly.

"I can count up to 10 and I can write them on my whiteboard." said Alayna

Tread Lightly Caravan visit

The Tread lightly Caravan visit was teaching us that the environment is everything around us in nature and that the environment is really important for us to live (trees for oxygen, water to drink, plants for food etc.) so we need to look after it.

"I'm growing a plant to look after. We are going to eat it."
